

Margarito Garcia Moreno, age 74, passed away on December 26, 2025, in Garland, Texas. He was born on July 20, 1951, in Durango, Mexico, to Elena Garcia and Francisco Moreno, and was raised in Durango, where he learned the values of hard work, faith, and family that guided him throughout his life.
In 1973, Margarito married Margaret, and together they raised five children. From humble beginnings, he built a life defined by perseverance and dedication. Margarito worked as a diesel mechanic in Dallas, Texas, for more than 45 years, earning respect through his strong work ethic, skill, and determination to provide for his family.
A God-fearing man, Margarito enjoyed reading the Bible and felt deeply blessed by the life he lived. He loved the outdoors, especially fishing, and took great joy in cooking and sharing meals with his family, whom he believed should always eat together. He especially enjoyed seafood and traveling back to Mexico to visit friends. Known for his social nature, Margarito loved to dance and was rarely seen without his signature hats and boots, proudly embracing his traditional roots.
Margarito raised his children with strong manners and values, was a God-fearing man, and believed deeply in hard work and elbow grease. Coming from humble beginnings, he earned his way up through perseverance, dedication, and determination.
He is survived by his children: Odelia Diaz, Rosendo Moreno, Alexander Moreno, Marie Elena Galvan and Margarito Moreno Jr; and by Margaret Gonzalez, his former wife.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elena Garcia and Jubenal Alvarez; his brothers Jose Angel Moreno, Aureliano Moreno, Francisco Moreno, Heraclio Moreno, and Martimiano Moreno; his sisters Agustina Muniz and Luz Muniz; and his beloved granddaughter, Alexandra Julia Moreno.
Margarito Garcia Moreno will be remembered as a loving father, hardworking provider, faithful man, and proud family patriarch whose legacy lives on through those he loved.
