Marian Thomasson Jurgensen passed away peacefully in her sleep on May 1, 2025 at the age of 71 at her home in Wichita Falls. A memorial service will be held Saturday May 10, 2025 at 1pm at Calvary Hill Funeral Home and Cemetery 3235 Lombardy Lane Dallas, TX 75220, a reception will immediately follow in the reception hall.
She was born in Dallas, TX on April 24, 1954. Her parents, Dr. Arthur Raymond and Mary Austin Thomasson, raised her into the woman we called Mother, Wife, Friend, and Grammy. Marian attended Ursuline Academy and graduated from Highland Park High School in 1972. Marian married the love of her life Bill Jurgensen on November 3, 1979. They celebrated 45 beautiful years together. Marian was a devoted wife, incredible mother, and Grammy. Marian loved the Dallas Cowboys, but some would say they were responsible for her heart condition. Yearly trips to Creede, Colorado with her parents developed into a love for the town, and she shared that love with Bill and her daughters. She was at her happiest in the mountains tucked away from the world with a book and a Diet Pepsi in her hands. Marian will be remembered for her famous Christmas and Super Bowl parties with over-the-top amounts of fried chicken, baking over 20 dozen cookies and preparing her famous pumpkin pie and chicken spaghetti for the holidays as a special treat for friends and family. Marian immensely enjoyed spoiling and watching her grandchildren grow up.
She was preceded in death by her parents Dr. Arthur Raymond and Mary Thomasson, two sons John Martin and James Michael Jurgensen. Her in-laws Elmer and Gwendolen Jurgensen and brother-in-law Thomas Jurgensen. She is survived by her husband, William Earnest Jurgensen of Wichita Falls, daughters Jennifer Lynn Jurgensen of Dallas, and Diane Jurgensen Polley (Chad) of Iowa Park and her grandchildren, Tylan, Tessa, Baylee, Max, Samuel, her brother Alan Raymond Thomasson of Truth or Consequences, NM, sister-in-law, Catherine Jurgensen Wallace (James) of Dallas, the Why July Crew, and many dear friends that became family over the years.
