Marie Peña entered eternal rest on July 20, 2024 in Desoto, TX. She was born on September 7, 1930 to Rafael and Florentina in Dallas, TX. Marie loved to eat out especially enchiladas, ice cream and cake. Some of her favorite shows and movies are any novelas, Madea and Marvel movies. Shopping, traveling and spending time with her daughter, son in law, grandchildren and great grandchildren brought her so much joy. She will be greatly missed.
She is preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Ciria P. Perales, Gloria P. Cruz and Margaret P. Contreras; brothers, Gilbert Peña and Rafael Peña Jr.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Cynthia Peña Martinez with her husband, Manuel; sister, Amelia P. Marceleño; brothers, Rogelio Peña and his wife Mari Lou Peña and Eduardo Peña and his wife Hortencia Peña; grandchildren, Stefani Martinez and her husband Patrick, Anthony Martinez and his wife Karah, Matthew Martinez and Marcelino Martinez and his wife Amber; great grandchildren, James, Loralie, Anthony, Thalia and Juliano.
A visitation will be held August 1, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and a rosary at 7:00 PM at Calvary Hill Funeral Home & Cemetery, 3235 Lombardy Ln, Dallas, Texas 75220. A liturgy of the word will be August 2, 2024 at 1:00 PM with Deacon Gene Freeman officiating. A committal will follow at Calvary Hill Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers are Troy Marciano, Frank Cruz Jr., Anthony Martinez, Rudy Espinoza , Marcelino Martinez and Patrick Reyes.
