Martha Lawrence Doran, “Marti”, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, 9 October 2017. She will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend to all that knew and loved her. She is survived by her husband, Jim Doran, daughter, Taylor Doran, parents, Sandy and Jack Lawrence, sister Jeanne Martin, brothers, Pete Lawrence and David Lawrence, and sister-in-law, Lee Lawrence, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Born in Ann Arbor, Michigan on 9 January 1956, Marti spent most of her life in Dallas, Texas, and was active in many local community organizations. Marti enjoyed Saturday afternoon Mahjong games with the girls at Brookhollow. She was an avid reader and loved being a part of the Daisy Book Club. She spent many years in the commercial real estate industry where she became a leader in her field, and had many friends and acquaintances.
She will be missed by all.
There will be a visitation on Friday, 13 October 2017, at Sparkman-Hillcrest from 5:00pm to 6:30pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 on Saturday, 14 October 2017 at Christ the King Catholic Church, 8017 Preston Road, Dallas, TX 75225 with Msgr. Donald Zimmerman celebrant.
