With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Martha Adriana Mata, who left this world on December 4, 2025. Martha was born and raised in the Rio Grande Valley, where she developed her strong spirit, loving nature, and lifelong appreciation for family and community.
She attended Rio High School, where she was active in athletics and known for her dedication, determination, and bright presence on and off the field.
Martha was a devoted wife, daughter, sister, and aunt, whose warmth touched everyone blessed to know her. She was preceded in death by her beloved brother, Juan Carlos Lara.
She is survived by her loving wife, Ruth Pech; her mother, Adriana Martinez; her sisters Carla Mata, Diana Lara, and Linda Lara; and her brothers Elias Mata, Conrado Guerra, and Alberto Guerra.
Martha will be remembered for her caring heart, her gentle spirit, and her boundless love for her family. She was an animal lover who found joy in the simple moments and embraced each day of her life’s journey with gratitude and grace.
Her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who loved her.
May she rest in eternal peace.
