Marvin was born in Dallas, TX June 16, 1930 to Lester and Minnie Kerr. Marvin graduated from Crozier Tech High School in 1949. He met Barbara Louise Malone in the summer 1949. Marvin enlisted in the Air Force January 1951 and was stationed at Sheppard Air Force Base in Wichita Falls, TX. As soon as Barbara graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1952 they married June 8, 1952. Marvin was discharged from the Air Force in 1955 and began a 25 year Civil Service career working for the Army and Air Force as an instructor. During his career Marvin and Barbara lived in Lockhart and Wichita Falls before moving to Grand Prairie in 1967 when he was offered a position at the US Army Bell Textron Plant in Hurst, TX. Marvin retired in 1977. Shortly after retirement Marvin and Barbara moved to their Cedar Creek Lake home where they enjoyed many years of wonderful memories with family and friends. They just recently moved to Arlington, TX.
Marvin always had a love for motorcycles; during retirement he enjoyed fishing, riding his golf cart around the neighborhood, and working in his shop at Cedar Creek. Dandy, their little yorkie, was never too far away from him. Marvin was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. We will forever miss our PawPaw, but are comforted by the lasting memories we can all share.
Marvin is survived by his loving wife, Barbara, of 65 years, 3 children – Dennis & wife Vicki, Debbie Slye & husband Eddie and Greg & wife Beth; 11 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.
Marvin was preceded in death by his parents, his twin sister Marjorie Fay Williamson, and younger brother Doug Kerr.
