Mary Ruth Howard

Mary Ruth Howard of Waxahachie, Texas went to be with her Heavenly Father on Thursday January 4, 2024. She was born June 3, 1929 in Dallas, Texas at Methodist central hospital in Oak Cliff. Her parents were Simone Rufus Long and Ella Long. She graduated from Sunset High School in 1945 and graduated from East Texas State University in 1949.

She is preceded in death by her parents Simone Rufus Long and Ella Long, her sister Evelyn Cave, and her daughter Donna Ruth Clark.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years Richard L “Dick” Howard, Son David and wife Patricia Clark, Step Sons Rick and wife Paula Howard, Walter “Monty”Howard and wife Debbie Howard, and Ronald “Buzz” Howard and partner Tammy Fucci.

9 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren. Numerous nephews, cousins and an incredible number of friends.

She was a member of Dallas Park Baptist Church, Lake Park Presbyterian Church, Shiloh Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

She had a beautiful soprano voice and sang in the choir at all three churches.

She was a beautiful lady, had a beautiful smile, a friendly spirit and an incredible laugh. You always new when Ruth was there when you heard that laugh.

She will be greatly missed but we know that we will see her again.

A celebration of life for Mary will be held Thursday, January 11, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Shiloh Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 7810 Shiloh Rd, Midlothian, TX 76065.
