

Melissa Broyles Brumfield, 75 , went to Heaven on November 18, 2023, concluding a valiant five-year battle with Lewy Body Dementia.
Born in Dallas to Harrison Sr. and Eunice Broyles. Melissa was predeceased by her father, mother, brother Harrison Jr., sister Bette Ryle, brother-in-law Peter Ryle, and nephew David Broyles. Her memory is cherished by surviving family members, including her sister-in-law Marilyn Broyles, daughters Melissa Leigh Evans with her husband, Brian and Kristin Ferguson with her husband, Edwin, along with grandsons Connor Daley, Sean Daley and Blake Schrank, nieces Becky Anderson, Kari Braddock and Michelle Broyles, nephew Gary Broyles and extended family.
Melissa’s life revolved around her unwavering commitment to Jesus, her church and her family. She found joy in contributing her voice to the church choir, Women’s Ensemble, and any other choir that embraced her melodic presence. An avid traveler, Melissa explored the world independently and alongside the church choir, relishing diverse architectural wonders, connecting with people, and immersing herself in the living histories of various communities.
A memorial service will take place at First United Methodist Church of Richardson on Wednesday, December 13 at 3:00pm. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Music Ministry of her cherished church First United Methodist Church of Richardson (https://www.fumcr.com/giving_honorary), or Heifer International (https://www.heifer.org/).
