Michael Jay Pirkle of Dallas, Texas, passed away on November 26, 2025, at the age of 81. Born on November 5, 1944, in Dallas, Michael lived a full and meaningful life surrounded by the people he loved most.
He is preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Carrie Diane; his brother-in-law, Greg Bunch; his brothers, Jerry and Gary; and his parents, Norma and Wilson Stark, W J and Millie Pirkle.
Michael is survived by his devoted wife of 60 wonderful years, Gloria; his son, Scott; and his cherished granddaughter, Bella. He is also survived by his sisters, Janet Brister (Chris) and Karen Farley (Terry), along with numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and many cousins who will forever hold him in their hearts.
A graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School, Class of 1962, Michael proudly served his country by joining the United States Army, where he worked in the Military Police and was stationed at the prestigious West Point Military Academy in New York. Following his service, he built a long and respected career as a marine boat mechanic, a profession that suited his skill, patience, and love for the water.
Michael was an avid outdoorsman who found joy in fishing and hunting. He also loved music and spent many hours playing his guitar. Above all, Michael was known for his gentle spirit, his unwavering love for his family, and his dedication as a husband, father, and grandfather.
He will be remembered for his kindness, his hard work, and the love he shared so freely. His legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
