

Nedra Faye Kyles was born February 8, 1957, in Dallas, Texas to the parents of James Stanford Kyles, Sr. and Shirley Mae Toliver Kyles. Nedra was married to Donald L. Bufford. From this union their son, Darron L. Bufford, was born. Later in life Nedra married Cecil Ford. They were married until her passing.
A native of Dallas, Texas Nedra, was raised in northern California's Bay Area. She is a proud 1975 graduate of F.D. Roosevelt high school, Dallas, Texas. Nedra entered East Texas State University (East Texas A & M University), in the fall of 1975. There, she earned a liberal arts degree in criminal justice with a minor in counseling. After graduating Nedra was recruited by the State of Texas parole board in Dallas, Texas. She enjoyed a long and rewarding career as a parole officer for the state of Texas. During her career, she was awarded “Parole Officer of the Year". She also owned a successful private investigation business, Multifax Investigations.
For the past 18 years, Nedra and her husband owned and operated an assisted living facility, " Oaks Assisted Living" in Dallas Texas.
Nedra was a devoted member at Concord Missionary Baptist Church Dallas, Texas, under the leadership of Reverend Bryan L. Carter, and first lady Stephanie Carter. She served on the hospitality committee and the greeters.
She was an active graduate member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc.-Alpha Xi Omega Chapter, Dallas, Texas. Nedra was honored as a Golden member for fifty years of service on February 28, 2026. She attended numerous regional and national conferences. As an undergraduate, she mentored newly initiated members, sharing the rich history and culture of Alpha Kappa Alpha Inc.
Nedra loved her family deeply and cherished spending time with her family and cherished spending time with her grandchildren. Her spirit continues to shine brightly, serving as a reminder of the importance of family, faith and community.
On Friday, May 15, 2026, Nedra quietly departed this life for her heavenly home. She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.
She leaves to cherish her memories, her husband, Cecil Ford; her son, Daron L. Bufford (Jenille); six stepchildren; grandchildren, Camille Dawn Bufford and Sidney James Bufford; sisters, Sheri Jones and Kathy Kyles Birks; brother, James Stanford Kyles, Jr. (Van); along with a village of cousins, nieces, nephews and other loving relatives and friends.
