If you asked a hundred people who Nicolas Martinez was; they'd all give you a different story. A volunteer, a mechanic, an avid churchgoer, a handyman, a singer, a corny comedian, a philanthropist, a hard worker, but to us he was simply DADDY. To others he was Grandpa, Hermano, and a good Friend.
As a young man, Nicolas mad the decision to make a better life for himself, so with no money he made the brave decision to travel to an unknown country. Here he started a family who he supported by working long hours for American Iron and Metal where he worked for over 20 years.
One of Nicolas' biggest accomplishments was being a father. He had always wanted children and considered himself luck enough to have 2. His daughters called their dad a superhero, and even as adults still see him that way. He was always there for them through their ups and downs, and taught them everything there is about loving God.
Just like he dealt with all experiences in life, Nicolas managed his illness with strength and grace, and wanted to spend as much time with his loved ones as possible. On his final days, he was surrounded by his children, and grandchildren who he adored more than anything else in the world.
In the end it's just like he used to say: " Es todo parte del show".
