

Norma Jean Thompson, 94, of Dallas, Texas, passed away peacefully on August 6, 2025, after a short illness. Born on April 7, 1931, on her family’s farm in Dallas, Jean she was preceded in death by her beloved parents Ben and Mary, and sisters Agnes, Bennie, and Nolla.
For 50 years, she was a faithful member of Shiloh Terrace Baptist Church. She worked many years as an office manager at the University of Texas Health Science Center before retiring in 2001.
In her younger days, she loved to square dance, and in every season of life, she loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. You could always find Jean watching the news in her favorite chair with her morning Folgers coffee. She was devoted to her cats, and always willing to take in any stray cats that came to the back door.
Jean is survived by her sons Larry Dean Thompson (wife Carol) and Michael Craig Thompson (wife Sarah), her grandchildren Ben, Susie, Shawn, and Bailey, and a growing gaggle of great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind many beloved nieces, nephews, and extended family who adored her.
Jean lived in the same home since 1956, remaining independent until the end. She will be remembered for her faith and spirited personality.
Pallbearers will be Larry Thompson, Mike Thompson, Ben Thompson, James Baggett, David Yowell, and Kevin Meyer.
