As the eldest son he was pulled from school to help support the family. He was drafted into the United States Army, where he served during the Korean War and was stationed at West Point. After his time in the military, he pursued a career as a truck driver, igniting his passion for exploring the world. Yet, it was his calling to the ministry that truly defined his purpose. He traveled all over the country spreading the good news of Jesus Christ, “Its Holiness or Hell”. Over 40 years ago he founded the Everlasting Gospel Association, and he begin pastoring Latter Rain Holiness church.
Pastor Dorsey departed this life Wednesday, February 19, 2025. He was preceded in death by his son, Joe Dorsey and siblings, MaryAnn Dorsey-Tucker, Billie Munson and Ray Dorsey.
He leaves to cherish his beloved wife of 53 years, Helen Marie Dorsey; brother Isaac Henry (Lei) Washington, and his children Carleta (Billy) Bowers, Renee Dorsey, Tina Dorsey, Mary Dorsey, Tiffany (Eric) Beechum, Debra Shields, Ricky (Zelda) Dorsey, Terry Dorsey, and Walter Broadus; a host of nephews, nieces, grandchildren, great grandchildren, relatives and friends.
Known for his caring nature, humility, and kind-hearted spirit, Pastor Dorsey made a lasting impact on all he encountered.
We extend a special thanks to the Pastors and ministers who were his Brothers & Sisters in Christ, whom he worked very closely with and supported Pastor Dorsey throughout his spiritual journey. Pastors: Edward and Trevellya Tyson, Clyde and Mary Morgan, Assistant Pastor Chris Polk, as well as Evangelist Bob and Sylvia Newman. Their love and support were a source of strength and inspiration to Pastor Dorsey throughout his lifelong dedication to serving the Lord.
