Paul E. Snyder, Jr. was born on October 13, 1926 and went to be with our Lord on December 26th, 2014. Paul had been ill for several years and was ready to go home. His faith was strong, having committed himself to Jesus at a young age.
Paul had a rich and full life. He loved being a big brother to his sisters and had a large family in Pennsylvania, his birthplace. Serving in the Navy when he was younger gave him a passion for flying that remained with him his entire life. Baseball was another sport he greatly enjoyed. He had a long and illustrious career with Sears and Roebuck before retiring in his fifties. He was an Episcopalian all his adult years, and an active member of AA. As a sponsor, he was an inspiration and help to many others, as he gave generously of his time and support.
Paul was married to Ellajean Martin for many years, and while outside circumstances caused their divorce, she remained the love of his life to his last breath. They enjoyed traveling and thoroughbred racing, opening their home to many friend and family celebrations. She gave him years of love, happiness and an extended family he loved as his own, having successfully blended their two families into one.
He is survived by his children, Gretchen Snyder (Providence, RI), Karen E. Wammack (Midlothian, Tx.) and Paul Snyder (Lincoln, Nebraska), Casey and Claudia Martin (Dallas, Tx.), Ben and Karla Martin (Bentonville, Ark.), Ginger and Kabir Shefa (San Diego, Ca.) grandchildren, Don Paul Wammack (Kapaau, Hawaii), Clint and Jana Wammack (Lucas, Texas) Douglas Foster (Dallas,Tx), Michelle Foster (Ca.), Nathan Martin (Dallas, Tx.), Bradley and Pamela Martin (spouse) (Bentonville, Ark.), and Charlie Martin (Corpus Christi, Tx.), along with a multitude of great-grandchildren, Camden, Tanner, Jordan, Sophia, Mari, Aiden and Aurelia. He is also survived by two special sisters, Charlotte Jackson and Judy Theissen and their families, whom he loved dearly.
A special recognition goes to Casey and Claudia Martin. They offered their help and care for him in times of trouble, treating him with much kindness, love and respect. We cannot express our thanks enough.
