She was born in Dierks, Arkansas on August 4, 1938, to Terry and (Della) Blanche Blackwell. Peggy spent most of her youth in Galveston, Tx.
She married her high school sweetheart Thomas Ewing Taylor on September 1, 1956. They began their married life in San Francisco, a place they loved and revisited many times. Together they had three children: Janna Taylor Gilbert (Jeffrey), Jennifer Taylor Hathorne (C.J.) and Stephen Thomas Taylor (Nancy).
Peggy built a home that was a gathering place for family, overflowed with friends and neighbors. Once her children were grown, that heart for hospitality blossomed through the restoration of two historic homes which she built into very successful Bed & Breakfast Inns.
She was not athletic or even interested in sports herself, but tirelessly supported her three children in a myriad of sports endeavors attending hundreds of games and track meets. Once they were grown, she found another group of people and cause to support -- the neighborhood Police Station. For years, she made sure their snack room and water were well stocked. They recognized her support and care for them over those many years with a special award which she proudly displayed on her wall.
She was committed to holistic natural health care before it was a trend or even recognized – she read, listened and talked with anyone from whom she might learn. Her tinctures and supplements kept her husband healthy and working full-time into his mid 80’s
Her husband, Tom, of 67 years preceded her in death.
She leaves behind eight grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren: Lindsey Rosie (David); Steve, Eleanor, Emmaline, and Lucy; Taylor Gilbert (Meril); Sophia and Amelia; Lattany Geraghty (Matthew); Micheala and Cambria; Dylan Hogg (Gaby); Dawson; Courtney Kaplan (Joseph); Bo and Dani; Jake Hathorne; Katie Wilson (Jonathan); Nora and Elijah; Billy Cox.
