

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ralph Hernandez, Jr. Husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend were the most important roles Ralph held. Now he has an equally important role, Guardian Angel. Ralph passed away peacefully on July 10, 2024, at Medical City in Dallas, TX. His battle with serious medical issues in recent years showed his courage in facing life challenges with a grin no one could forget. Despite the pain and setbacks, his fighting spirit was displayed until his very last breath. He transitioned from this world surrounded by loved ones who honored and cared for him throughout his life.
Ralph Hernandez, Jr was born to Tommie DeLeon and Ralph Hernandez, Sr on February 24,1956 in Dallas, TX. Ralph married the love of his life, Liz (Juarez), on March 10,1973. They met in Jr. High while attending JL Long and continued a courtship that led to eternity. Their love was a shining example of selflessness and mutual commitment. They had two daughters, Cindi & Stephanie, and looked to the future. Ralph was a hard worker and provider who always put his family first. It was his purpose in life to bring a smile to anyone who interacted with him. If you knew Ralph, you knew his grin and his infectious laugh. He was also an avid hunter for many years and loved fishing. He shared his hobbies and the joy they brought him with innumerable friends.
As Ralph entered the next chapter of his life, his most treasured role was Grandpa or Papa. First, Cindi gave him his princess, ‘his girl’, Savannah Lizette Hernandez (17). Then his son in law, Ram Pyda, and daughter Stephanie gave him two grandsons. His ‘boys’, Aiden Jay Pyda (13) and Levi Dev Pyda (10). He found such happiness in all their accomplishments, and most of all in spending time with them.
One of his greatest pleasures in life was being surrounded by his siblings, and his numerous nieces and nephews. He was respected and loved by all who knew him.
Ralph is preceded in death by his father, Ralph Hernandez, Sr. and his mother, Tommie DeLeon. He is survived by his sister Rosemary Black (Marvin), brother Frank Hernandez (Pasty), sister Linda Hernandez, brother Michael Hernandez, sister Jessica Luna (David), & sister Christina Gonzalez (Michael).
Ralph’s story is one of dedication, love, and an unwavering commitment to his family and friends. He will be deeply missed, but his legacy will be alive and well in the hearts and memories of all who knew him and loved him.
