Ramona Morales Vda de Loera

Ramona Morales de Loera, lovingly known to her family as Mama Mona, passed away peacefully at the age of 101 on August 21, 2025, in Dallas, Texas. Born on October 28, 1923, in Vista Hermosa, Michoacán, Mexico, she was the cherished daughter of Miguel Morales and Eulalia Gonzalez.

In 1939, Ramona married the love of her life, Gregorio “Goyis” Loera, and together they built a beautiful life rooted in faith, family, and tradition. Their union was blessed with ten children. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, and three of their children—Dolores Rios, Rosa Castro, and Salvador Loera.

Mama Mona is survived by her devoted children: Jesús (Raquel), Maria Luisa Ortiz, Antonio (Graciela), Gregorio (Graciela), Ana Bertha Jiménez (Javier), Roberto, and Lucía Cuevas (Rigoberto). Her life and love continue through an incredible legacy of 46 grandchildren, 105 great-grandchildren, 46 great-great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great-great-grandchildren.

Ramona’s life was a reflection of deep devotion and resilience. She held a special reverence for Our Lady of Guadalupe and faithfully attended church as often as possible, often singing praises with joy and sincerity. She found peace in knitting and purpose in prayer, offering blessings to every loved one who visited—especially if they were traveling.

Known for her fiery spirit, Mama Mona never hesitated to speak her mind. Even in her later years, she remained vibrant, witty, and wonderfully feisty—traits that brought both laughter and wisdom to those around her.

Her legacy is one of enduring faith, unwavering love, and a family that continues to grow in strength and unity because of the roots she planted. Though she has departed this world, her blessings, stories, and spirit will live on in the hearts of generations to come.

Ramona Morales de Loera, conocida con cariño por su familia como Mama Mona, falleció en paz a la edad de 101 años el 21 de agosto de 2025 en Dallas, Texas. Nació el 28 de octubre de 1923 en Vista Hermosa, Michoacán, México, hija amada de Miguel Morales y Eulalia González.

En 1939, Ramona se casó con el amor de su vida, Gregorio “Goyis” Loera, con quien formó una hermosa familia basada en la fe, el amor y la tradición. Su unión fue bendecida con diez hijos. Le precedieron en la muerte su esposo y tres de sus hijos: Dolores Ríos, Rosa Castro y Salvador Loera.

Mama Mona deja un profundo legado en sus hijos: Jesús (Raquel), María Luisa Ortiz, Antonio (Graciela), Gregorio (Graciela), Ana Bertha Jiménez (Javier), Roberto y Lucía Cuevas (Rigoberto). Su amor sigue vivo en sus 46 nietos, 105 bisnietos, 46 tataranietos y 8 choznos.

La vida de Ramona fue un reflejo de fe profunda y gran fortaleza. Tenía una devoción especial por Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe y asistía a la iglesia con la mayor frecuencia posible, siempre entonando cantos de alabanza con alegría y devoción. Encontraba paz al tejer y propósito en la oración, y nunca dejaba que un ser querido se fuera sin darle su bendición, especialmente si iba a viajar.

Quienes la conocieron recordarán su carácter fuerte y su espíritu vivaz. En sus últimos años, Mama Mona era conocida por su franqueza y por decir siempre lo que pensaba, lo cual llenaba de risas y sabiduría a quienes la rodeaban.

Su legado es uno de fe firme, amor incondicional y una familia que sigue creciendo con fuerza y unidad gracias a las raíces que ella sembró. Aunque ha partido de este mundo, sus bendiciones, historias y espíritu vivirán por siempre en los corazones de las generaciones que la siguen.

A visitation for Ramona will be held Friday, August 29, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Gonzalez Funeral Home, 3050 N STEMMONS FWY, DALLAS, TX 75247 with a rosary at 6:30 PM. Family and friends can also view her on Saturday August 30, 2025 from 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM. Interment will take place in Vista Hermosa de Negrete Michoacan Mexico
