

Richard Hall Fullen Sr., age 70, passed away on April 19, 2020 in Tyler, Texas. He was born on September 28, 1949 in Brownsville, Texas to his loving parents, Maria and Lynn Fullen Sr. Richard was raised in San Antonio, Texas and graduated from South San Antonio High School. He went on to proudly serve his country for five years as a Lance Corporal in the U.S. Marines during the Vietnam War. For his admirable service, he earned the Purple Heart and a Navy Achievement Medal with Combat V. In 1973, Richard married Susan, the love of his life, and together they raised three children. Richard built a successful career working as an automotive machinist at Fullen’s Crankshaft Service for over 15 years. In his spare time, Richard was happiest fishing, collecting guns, barbequing and enjoying the company of friends and family in the backyard, visiting with neighbors, and socializing on Facebook. Those who loved and knew Richard will always remember him as a loving husband, great father, big brother, and loyal friend.
He is preceded in death by his dad, Eddie Lee Phillips; mother, Maria Ophelia King; brother, Lynn Preston Jr.; and great uncle, Lynn Hall Smith. Richard is survived by his wife, Susan Kay Fullen; son, Richard Hall Fullen Jr. and daughter-in-law, Angela Fullen; grandson, Richard Hall Fullen III; granddaughter, Ericka Fullen; great-granddaughter, Paisleigh Jo; daughter, Tina Ray Hardwick; granddaughter, Courtney Kay Denton; great-grandson, Rhett Hall Denton; son, Justin Walton Hardwick; grandsons Shae Hardwick and Garrett Hardwick; siblings, Loy and Donald Herbert, Paul and Sheila Phillips, Debbie and Roland Martinez, John and Dawn Phillips, Cynthia and Don Ruthrauff; Karen and Gerald Fisher; Leslie and Mark Monette; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Attendees of Services: There is currently a mandate in Dallas County requiring those visiting essential businesses wear masks or facial coverings. To adhere to this mandate and for your safety, Grove Hill respectfully asks that you please wear a mask while paying respects to Mr. Fullen and visiting with his family.
