

Richard Sifuentes, age 79, passed away on February 18, 2026, in Dallas, TX. He was born on November 8, 1946, in Austin, Texas, to Dora Arechiga and Evaristo Sifuentes. Richard was raised in Austin’s East Side and attended Texas State University at San Marcos.
In 1966, he enlisted in the United States Navy and served with the U.S. Naval Reserve aboard the USS Shangri-La as an SK3 in the Mediterranean Sea and completed two years of service.
He married Beatrice Alaniz in 1985, and the couple had one son, Matt Sifuentes.
He was an insurance wholesaler extraordinaire at various insurance agencies and retired after 10+ years with Aflac.
In his spare time, Richard found great joy in being with his family and giving back to his community. He generously provided transportation services to those in need, attended theatrical and social gatherings, and cherished cruise vacations. He delighted in entertaining others through conversation, humor, and song, often sharing stories about his Uber customers that brought laughter to those around him. Above all, his greatest happiness was found in the love and company of his wife and son.
His family and friends will always remember his energetic spirit and the caring, funny, welcoming, thoughtful, intelligent, genuine, respectful, generous, charming, and warm presence he brought to every person he met. He valued meaningful conversation and extended kindness to all who crossed his path, leaving a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Dora Arechiga and Evaristo Sifuentes, and his sister, Gloria Valdez.
He is lovingly survived by his wife, Beatrice Sifuentes; his son, Matt Sifuentes; his stepchildren, Chris Garza, Johnny Joe Garza and his wife, Maribel Garza, and Belinda Garza; his grandchildren, Samantha Garza, Sonia Patel, and Joshua Garza; his sister, Mary Sue Bernal; his brothers, Chris Sifuentes and Everett Sifuentes; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
A visitation will be held at Grove Hill Funeral Home, located at 3920 Samuell Blvd, Dallas, TX 75228, on March 1, 2026, from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm, with a rosary to follow at 6:00 pm.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Pius X Catholic Parish, located at 3030 Gus Thomasson Rd, Dallas, TX 75228, on March 2, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm, with a reception to follow at the church from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm.
A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
