
Montague, Robert Paul, died November 28, 2010 at his home in Dallas. He was born March 6, 1923 in Virginia, Minnesota to William Kelley Montague and Mary Mueller. He was raised in Duluth, Minnesota, graduated from Lake Forest Academy in Chicago, and attended Dartmouth College before enlisting in the U.S Army Air Corp. He served honorably as a technical sergeant in the 81st Bomber Squadron, 490th Bomber Group from 1943 to 1945. He flew his first mission on D-Day. He earned his degree in mechanical engineering at the U. of Minnesota, and spent his professional life designing jet engines for General Electric, primarily in Cincinnati. He celebrated 60 years of marriage to Patricia Fitzgerald this past August. After his retirement, they enjoyed the beaches in Port Aransas, TX and the desert and mountains in Green Valley, AZ. He was predeceased by their youngest daughter, Mary, and is survived by their other five children: William D. (and his wife, Vickie), Robert C.(and his wife, Claire), Nancy D., and John M. Montague (and his wife, Marianna), and Joanne Hurtekant (and her husband, Tom.) Grandchildren include Kate, Robert and Joseph Hurtekant, Shannon Montague, John R. Montague, and Nicole Morgan. He will be remembered by his family for his fine mind, his love for his family, and his persistence when most others would have given up. Delia Garcia and Maria Estela Armas helped care for him with their kind hearts and loving hands, for which his family is very grateful.
