

Bob was born February 17, 1952 in Independence, MO and he passed away Monday, March 19, 2012 in Dallas, TX. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Ellen Wolfe. He is survived by his father, Dennis Wolfe of Keller, TX, his brother, Rick Wolfe, of Austin, TX, and his two sisters, Kathy Eiler and Rebecca Dill, both of Keller, TX; also nieces Kassie Dill, Haley Dill, Kelly Eiler, and nephews Chase Dill and Chris Eiler. He was adored by his family and will be deeply missed.
Bob loved God and his family and a had a deep passion for learning. He attended TCU where he made life-long friends, and received his BA in History from Calvin College in Grand Rapids, MI. He received a Master of Divinity from Westminster Theological Seminary in Philadelphia where he published a study in the Journal of Translation and Textlinguistics. He earned his PHD in Theology at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Ft Worth.
He studied abroad at the Institute of the Holy Land in Israel. He also studied German and French at Phillips University in Marburg, Germany and Dutch while in Holland. His great aptitude for languages allowed him to become fluent in German and proficient in Greek, Hebrew, Spanish, French and Latin.
He served as a Chaplin at Parkland Hospital in Dallas, TX before taking up a long standing career in Security. He was a member of Highland Park Presbyterian Church since 1988, which was a very important part of his life. He also served as a mentor for foreign students. Bob was born the grandson of a Methodist preacher who had great influence over his life and whose non-judgmental love and care for people was passed on to him.
Bob continued this ministry with great empathy and compassion by was always being available to help those in need. His focus was on God and His economy, not the material things of this earth. This he demonstrated by choosing to remain positive, never complaining and with great wit and humor always being thankful and loving. This is the example and legacy he has left to us all.
The funeral service to celebrate Bob’s life will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, March 24th at Highland Park Presbyterian Church in the Wynne Chapel, Reverend Dr. Ron Scates will officiate. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Gainesville, Texas.
