Ronald Kent Chalfant, born February 19th, 1939, in Mustang, Oklahoma lived a full and vibrant life in his 80 years with us. Growing up on a farm and surviving polio as a young boy, early on he demonstrated his determination and resilience. He went on to help with his family restaurant in Iowa, served in the U.S. Army, owned successful retail stores in Larimer Square of Denver, Colorado, had a horse-breeding business, and left a long-lasting legacy in the women’s shoe business while leading and consulting for various well-known brands. His creativity and entrepreneurial spirit, coupled with his kindness and charm, led him through immense success in all of his endeavors, but he was most proud of his family. He was a fixture on the sidelines of their sporting events and a fierce advocate for them through their careers. He is preceded in death by his son Steve Chalfant and his mother Ilene “Gram” Chalfant, for whom he was a doting son and caretaker. He is survived by his adoring sweetheart and companion Carla Smith, daughter Stacy Leyshon, son Alex Chalfant and his wife Elizabeth, daughter Linden Chalfant Nelson and her husband Kramer and 5 amazing grandchildren, Kirby, Connor, Sloan, Knox and Graham.
