He is preceded in death by his wife, Jessie B. Hearn; his parents, William Henry Hearn and Henrietta Miles; his daughters, Sharon Denise Jennings and Tammy Alexander; and his brothers, William Henry Hearn, Jr. and Lacy Smith, Jr.
RV, as he is affectionately known, moved to Dallas, Texas in his teens and worked several trade jobs before working for the City of Highland Park; which he retired from after 30 years of service. He was a great cook, enjoyed training dogs, listening to music/singing, and painting, to name of few. He was a man of many skills and talents.
There is a saying, “If you know, you know." Well, if you knew him, you'll remember his quick wit, no-nonsense approach to life, and his ability to command a room. He loved his family and cherished the relationships he had with his children and grandchildren. He would often say, “God is blessing me
through my family."
He leaves to cherish his memories daughters, Stephanie (Keith) McKnight, Treva (Edward) Reavis and LeaNez (Ajani) Sulaiman; son, Kevin Jackson and his mother, Melba Jackson; sisters, Annie Smith, Dorothy Jean Seals, Darlene Myles, and Sandra Smith' and brother Allen (Regina) Smith. He also leaves 14 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
