Rose Marie Avery (87) went to eternal rest in heaven on April 3, 2018 with her family by her side after a brief sudden illness. Rose Marie was born on August 15, 1930 in Dallas, Texas, and graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1947. She married Richard John Avery, Jr. on January 21, 1950. They were together for 60 years and raised eight children. Rose Marie managed the Avery Air Conditioning and Heating Company for over 30 years. She was an active member of Ladies of Charity, the St. Thomas Aquinas Altar Society, and Catholic Daughters of the Americas. She is preceded in death by her husband, parents Joseph and Margaret Neuhauser, brothers Joseph and Frank Neuhauser, sister Margaret Nigiliazzo, granddaughter Erica Avery and grandson J. R. Wallace. Rose Marie’s outstanding Catholic faith, dedication to her family, and service to her community defined her life. She was the epitome of southern hospitality and grace. A mother is a shooting star who passes through your life only once. Her beautiful life will forever be cherished by her eight children: Christine Harrell, Cathy Tipton Beck, Richard Avery (PJ) Patricia Calvillo (Oscar), Kenneth Avery (Janice), Thomas Avery (Debbie), Teresa Avery (Charles Dean) and Alan Avery. She is survived by 20 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild. Mass of Christian burial will be at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church on Friday, April 6 at 10:30 am. Internment at Calvary Hill will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to either Mother Theresa's Missionaries of Charity or to Ladies of Charity.
