Rose Gruber Biderman, age 88, passed away on December 12, 2016. She was born on November 26, 1928 in Dallas, TX. She graduated from Forest Avenue High School and attended Southern Methodist University, where she met her husband, Sam. Rose taught Sunday School for fifteen years. She later returned to college and obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in history from UT-Dallas. She was the archivist for the Dallas Jewish Historical Society from 1983 to 1995 and authored the book, “They Came to Stay: The Story of the Jews in Dallas”. Rose served as president of the Dallas Chapter of Hadassah. She is preceded in death by her parents, Morris and Annie Gruber, four siblings, and her husband, Sam Biderman, Jr. She is survived by her daughters, Debra Epstein, Susan (David) Taplin, and Rebecca (Jacob) Goetz; grandchildren Barak and Judah Epstein, Barry (Savannah) and Jason Taplin, and Sam, Arno, and Harris Goetz; great-grandchildren Gavin and Levi Taplin. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hadassah and the World Wildlife Fund. The funeral will be held at Shearith Israel Cemetery on Dolphin Road in Dallas on Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at 11am.
