Ruth Mildred Parker was born December 30, 1918, in Cassatt, South Carolina to Frederick Marcus Walters and Sally Hayes Walters. Raised in Cassatt, SC, she graduated from Midway High School. She married James Oscar Parker Jr, on Sept. 12, 1952 in Columbia SC. They moved to Dallas, TX in 1965. They were blessed with one child, James O. Parker III (Joe). Along the way Ruth worked for New York Life Insurance Company, Foster & Caldwell Agency, Midstate Distributors, Medallion Discount Store, and she retired from Lakewood Country Club. After retirement she was active in AARP, and the Ladies Altar Society of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, James Parker, her brothers, sister, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. She is survived by son Joe Parker of Dallas, brother-in-law Frank Parker of Columbia, SC and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Sunday, November 22 from 2-4pm at Sparkman Hillcrest. Funeral will be at St. Thomas Aquinas on Monday at 10am with interment following at Calvary Hill Cemetery.
