Thought about you today, Sally! I have so many good memories of our times together. I miss you and our talks.

I will miss you Sally  - my sister - my friend. I love the times we have had together. Orange Oak Twists,  taco salads, just sitting and talking. You will be sorely missed. I am glad the pain is gone. I love you and Duke and the kids.  I will see you again in heaven.

Sally... 11 years ago I had just started my own business.  I had  NO IDEA what I was doing! I was excited and passionate &   I didn’t wear make up . Never had a skin care routine.  I am a natural artist  & people lover so I used those to get started.  
I first met you at our  Hammond FAMILY reunion in VA.  You entered into my drawing  and you spoke to me! I was so nervous and so scared! ( Not sure if I ever told anyone that)! Your loving kindness settled my worries! A few months later in Texas  you and Duke picked me up from the airport.  That Seminar I crossed stage in a beautiful dress as a  Sales Director!You were there!   We also celebrated your business opening at the MARY KAY Museum!  We had so much fun! Duke, Sorry if it wasn’t as much fun for you.. 😂 Sally, you inspired me!You started your MK business.  We began our life long friendship.  Even after you closed your MK, you were my office manager and boy, did I need that! Thank you for putting up with my ADHD Brain!I loved all those years I came to Texas & was SO blessed by your family. I tried to pay you back somehow for your kindness and love  by shaving your dog! I enjoyed the Waffle House and attending your church.  You have  taught me so much.  Your ❤️ And admiration  for Duke helps me still become a better wife! Your love, guidance concern and anguish  for your children and grandchildren  helps me to be a better mom. Your ❤️ For your  students &  their families & co-workers guides me as I coach for sports!   Your desire to serve your church and strangers inspires me to be a giver of Love!!  You taught me “Not get tired of doing good even when others don’t appreciate your works. Eagles fly alone w God. Your ❤️For our Heavenly Father was Strong before and grew in Bounds during your suffering which inspires my ❤️ For God! Because of you, I  began & still am  blossoming into the Christian woman I am intended to be! Because  of your love & faith, I’m blooming as a wife, mom, leader, and coach. Thank U! 





I knew Sally through Mary Kay and Christy Wade. Sally was always a great helper, a lover of everyone she met and most importantly she reflected the love of Jesus! 
Duke, what a beautiful love letter. Thank you for allowing us into your great love for her.

My Dearest Sally,
     Little did I know last Friday that as I began to settle in for the evening in my cot next to your hospital bed, that it would be the last time I would see you alive.  Although I experienced a time of anguish when I saw that you had breathed your last, I began to feel some peace knowing that you were no longer in pain, no longer suffering, and in the glorious presence of Our Lord.  Oh, I still miss you terribly.  You left a hole in my heart that will never be completely filled.  I will ache for a while as I grieve over not having you here with me.  I don’t think I really knew just how much I loved you until you were no longer here.  I wouldn’t hesitate for a second to do it all over again.
     But I know I will see you again.  No one knows when that will be except The Almighty, but I know God’s promise.  When that day comes, we will run to each other and embrace; you’ll be able to run and jump into my arms.  No more wheelchairs.  You can show me the mansion that Jesus has prepared for you (that doesn’t have to be handicapped accessible) and we will forever dwell in the presence of the Lord.
     So sit tight, I’ll be there shortly.  Until then, I will cherish and cling to many fond memories of you.

I am so sorry about Sally’s passing. I knew her for years when I worked at MISD.  

Sally was my son’s Early Childhood Teacher 27 years ago.  I will never forget how kind, loving, fun and wonderful Sally was to all her students.
We have stayed in contact all these years and she would love seeing Adam’s  sports pictures on FB and always ask about him.
We will miss you, Sally ❤️

Sally, you were a friend, a sister in the Lord and an encourager.  And, a great support to Duke and your family.  You will be long remembered for your loving work with special children at FBCD.
