I am terribly sorry for your loss. Sheri was an inspiration to me, and I looked forward to working with her in the clinic next semester. I met with her back in February to chat with her about pursuing a career in human rights and was so impressed by her eagerness to help me and offer advice. It was an honor to know her, even if for just a short time, and I hope that I, along with other students at Cardozo, will make her proud.

I am extremely shocked and deeply saddened by the passing of Professor Sheri Rosenberg. I got to know and work with Sheri as a student at Cardozo Law School and she always supported me and other genocide survivors' efforts to share our testimonies and educate the world about the crime of genocide. She was truly an inspiring woman, who hated every form of injustice and worked tirelessly to promote basic human rights for all. It was way too soon for her to leave this world but I know she accomplished so much in her lifetime than many will ever accomplish with so many more years. Sheri was a mentor to many genocide prevention and human rights activists like me and she inspired so many young people to pursue careers in human rights. She will continue to live on in the memories of all the people whose lives she touched and inspired. Sheri, we miss you dearly. Rest in peace.

I am so deeply saddened by the loss of Sheri. I knew her as an amazing sister to my childhood friend Margot Rosenberg. She was thoughtful, insightful and brilliant. Sheri, you will be missed.

On behalf of all of us here at Minority Rights Group International, I would like to express our very sincere condolences to Sheri's family, friends and colleagues. 

For many years, we worked closely with Sheri as part of the legal team in a case before the Grand Chamber of the European Court of Human Rights challenging discriminatory provisions in Bosnia Herzegovina's constitution preventing Jews and other ethnic minorities from standing for certain political offices, including the country's Presidency.  Sheri worked with tireless commitment, energy and zeal both across time zones and as she combined this work with her many other commitments.  The positive outcome of the case represents a major step forward, both for Bosnia and for human rights law generally. Sheri remained very much involved with us in work around trying to secure implementation of the Court's favourable judgment and amendments to the discriminatory laws.  Most recently, Sheri has worked on starting up an anti-discrimination legal clinic in Tuzla and on developing a project focusing on the issue of compatibility of power-sharing agreements with the rights of minority communities. 

Sheri's passion for human rights and also her down to earth attitude and great sense of humor will be very much missed. We will all treasure our memories of Sheri. It was such a great privilege to get to work alongside her.

I am deeply saddened to hear about Sheri Rosenberg's passing. I was lucky to go with Sheri on a trip to Rwanda and Tanzania to study reconciliation in Rwanda after the genocide. That trip profoundly affected me as we spoke with victims of the genocide, civil society members, and government authorities on how to overcome that terrible period and prevent future atrocities. Through it all, Sheri showed incredible grace, thoughtfulness, intelligence and compassion in speaking with all parties and thinking about these problems. Her scholarship and advocacy were more than lip service to human rights, she really encouraged a whole community of activists to get it right  to find avenues that can concretely be pursued to ensure that never again becomes a reality. As the child of a Holocaust survivor, I can only imagine what drove her passion. Sheri really wanted to make the world a better place through her life's work. And she did. Who can say they've done that? Her loss will be deeply felt in the human rights community. My heart goes out to her family and especially her young children, who I hope will grow up to know what incredible contributions their mother made to the world.

We have a lost a wonderful friend,  a brilliant scholar and a pure soul.

My heartfelt sympathies to Sheri's family and friends. Sheri was a rare and inspiring educator, who taught while simultaneously learning alongside her students.  In this way, she taught me that our educations aren't and should not be finite, and that we can learn something valuable from everyone if we are willing to listen to them.  Her contributions to Cardozo are immeasurable, and I will forever be grateful for the privilege of learning from her and working with her in the Holocaust and Human Rights Studies Program, the human rights clinic, and during our justice and reconciliation seminar to Rwanda and Tanzania.  She was an inspiration and a role model; and those she touched will continue the conversations she advanced, be they human rights educators and activists, or traveling different paths with their eyes forever opened thanks to Sheri.  She will be greatly missed.

Devastation doesn't begin to express my deep sadness of the passing of Sheri Rosenberg. Not only a beautiful person inside and out, I loved having our little talks when she would come to Dallas. Not only was she an accomplished activist, she was a loving sister to my dearest friend Lizzy Rosenberg Greif, sister-in-law, and the proud daughter of Ann Rosenberg. To say my heart is broken for Sheri's family, husband, children, sisters, brothers, nieces and nephew, is a small, my whole soul hurts. The Rosenberg family has been part of my life since preschool, and have the utmost respect for them. I will miss Sheri and her classy little black dresses, and that great smile. It saddens me the pain my dear friends are going through at this incredibly devastating time. I am glad they know I am here for them and on call 24/7.

There are no words to express my shock and sadness at Sheri's passing.  Sheri was such an incredible, unique and original person.  We met when her oldest son and my daughter were born within days of each other.  Although I only knew her for a few years, I can truly say that she enriched my life greatly and her dedication to her family and career inspired me. I consider it an honor to have known her.  Unfortunately, the world is a bit darker without Sheri in it.

I have fond memories of working with Sheri in Bosnia-Herzegovina back in the early years of the century. She was excellent company, fun to be with and a capable and committed human rights defender. The news of her death fills me with sadness. My thoughts are with her family and those close to her.

It is so rare in life to have the privilege of working closely with someone who teaches you about the person you want to become.  Sheri is a beacon that has guided not only my professional path, but my personal journey to understanding what integrity really is. Her passion and drive are irreplaceable in this world. 

I will also miss the warmth and love that she shared when you truly needed it - when you began to doubt your choices and needed that reminder that everything is going to be ok. I feel so honored to have spent the time we had together and to have received some of her wisdom. 

Sheri, you cared so deeply about our work, and I promise you we will continue. I miss you my teacher and friend.

I knew Sheri only briefly, through our children's preschool, but always admired her. I have fond memories of a wonderful shabbat dinner she so generously invited us to at her home. My deepest sympathies to her beautiful family.

Sheri will be deeply missed by all who shared her devotion to preventing genocide and mass atrocities.  An inspirational figure and innovative thinker, she bridged the gaps between legal and social science research and between the worlds of policy and academia. Her voice had resonance because she spoke with a sincerity of purpose, a wealth of knowledge, and a depth of commitment that commanded attention and respect.  She knew who she was and what she stood for. Like so many others, we will remember her generous spirit, her graciousness, her vibrancy, and her humor.  She was the real deal: a genuine, caring, and modest individual who was determined to make a difference, and who did.  Her legacy will live on in her beloved family, her students, her colleagues, and all who will be moved--as we were--by her integrity, her ideas, and her deeds.

Sheri had a kind, dedicated, critical and insightful intelligence that made working with her, and getting to know her, a privilege. I wish her family, who must be deep in sorrow, can find some comfort in the knowledge that while her life was too short, it was a life of amazing achievements.

Sheri was a brave and fearless champion of human rights, genocide prevention and "the responsibility to protect". It was an honour to work with her and to call her a friend. We had great fun together in Thailand shopping for kids clothes at a Bankok market after a conference in 2012. I spoke at an event with her in NY in January this year. I had no idea she was sick. She was funny and as sharp and passionate as always. My heart goes out to her family over this terrible loss. I am so saddening to learn that Sheri has died and send my heart-felt condolences to Gregg and all of the family. I first met Sheri in Bosnia and Herzegovina and we have been friends ever since, though based in different continents; I feel very lucky and honoured by that friendship, by Sheri's humour, straight talking no nonsense approach to life; deep commitment to her work and to family. Sheri was a good person and an inspirational teacher and mentor.  My years at Cardozo were defined by my work with her both in the Human Rights and Genocide Clinic and in the Program in Holocaust and Human Rights Studies. I am shocked and greatly saddened to hear of her passing.  The world has lost a great light. May her memory guide and comfort all who knew her, inspiring us to fight the battles she would have fought and to continue her quest for justice as best we can.

Sheri was for many of us the dedicated scholar seeking to prevent genocide, taking seriously the responsibility of all of us to stop the carnage before it is conceived and realized. Sheri was also the articulate partner that engaged all in seeking what was right, to make it possible for all especially those who were victims of violence and threats. She remains with us in her work and words. I will rededicate myself to her commitments.

Sheri's warmth, integrity, intelligence and dedication were an inspiration.  She will be sorely missed.  Professionally she had an extraordinary mind and ability.  She was able not only to see opportunities in the law to protect the vulnerable, but to systematically and pragmatically act to test systems, hold Governments to account and to make safeguards a reality.  I knew Sheri first as a friend, and then as a wife and mother.  She and Greg helped me beyond measure during trials in my life and I will be forever grateful for their kindness.  But more than that, we rejoiced in her warm home, her wonderful dinner parties, her humor and her love for those around us.  Her spirit and example will live on in my family forever and I am glad and honored to have known her.  The thoughts and prayers of the Kirsch-Wood family are with you all.

Sheri and my dad, who is the last surviving Nuremberg prosecutor, had a long and productive collaborative relationship working together in the field of human rights and promoting the rule of law, and we look forward to helping to continue to advance the important goals of a more humane and peaceful world, to which she was so committed.

Sheri was a remarkable woman who positively impacted the lives of so many.  I came to know her as a student in Cardozo Law School's human rights clinic in 2006-07, and traveled with her to Rwanda and Tanzania to study justice and reconciliation in 2008.   Like so many of her students, I will always be grateful for the doors she opened for me, and for the encouragement and direction she provided at just the right moments.  She was a gifted human rights educator, scholar, and advocate who inculcated her students with more than just knowledge and skills, but confidence to change the world through human rights.  I will deeply miss her friendship, humor and no-nonsense advice.  To her family, I send my love and prayers for comfort and peace.

I met Sheri only a handful of times, our sons were in the same pre-school class. I remember her as completely captivating, funny and a loving mother. My heart goes out to her friends and family.

I first met Sheri ten years ago, in 2005, when she organized the conference at Cardozo Law School commemorating the 60th Anniversary of the Nuremberg Trials, and immediately became enamored with her passion for making a better world. She has been a source of inspiration ever since. Sheri will be sorely missed by the entire human rights community worldwide. May her memory to be an inspiration to work even harder to make the dream of Nuremberg a reality.

My deepest sympathies to the family and friends of Sheri. The Board and staff of HIAS Pennsylvania are deeply saddened at the death of Sheri Rosenberg, whose professional life was devoted to ending genocide and supporting human rights.  She also was an amazing women with energy and caring for her family, synagogue, colleagues and students. As a HIAS PA Board member, Sheri helped create the Cardozo Fellowship to enable a Cardoza law graduate to advocate for and represent vulnerable immigrants. What a loss to so many.

The friends and colleagues of Sheri Rosenberg at the Auschwitz Institute for Peace and Reconciliation are in mourning for the loss of this most special and brilliant woman. Our thoughts and prayers go to her loving family during this time of grief.

Sheri was an amazing woman in so many ways. I'll remember her as a very, very special friend who brought a lot of joy to my life. Words cannot express how much Professor Rosenberg changed me both professionally and personally. I feel so privileged to have worked with her. I actually came to Cardozo Law because I wanted to work with her and be in her clinic. I had chosen her to be the professor to "hood" me at graduation this year because she means so much to me, and I am glad I was able to tell her. The clinic and working with SPR changed my life, and I will treasure the meaningful conversations and hours we spent together working and talking about the world, people, faith and hope. Losing her is so painful for all of us who knew her beautiful soul and felt the impact of her work. So many students, colleagues and clients, all of them received something from her. I went to her for advice, and I would often poke my head into her office to see what she was up to. She is one of the only professors I have cried with. When you spend so much time with people, they become family in a way. 

I want to say thank you for sharing her with all of us. It was such an honor to know her. As I am grieving this loss with you, I want you to know that you are in my prayers. I pray that God may strengthen you, and inspire you with hope and peace. All my love to the Rosenberg children, whom I've met on several occasions around the school. May the Lord bless you and keep you. May we all carry on her passionate legacy of loving and serving others.
