On May 8, 2026, Stephani Smith Walne was welcomed with open arms by her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Stephani was born on October 30, 1981, in Dallas, Texas, to Eileen and Weldon Smith. She grew up in Dallas alongside her two sisters and graduated from Lake Highlands High School in 2000. She continued her education at Texas A&M University, where she earned a degree in Finance in 2004.
Stephani married her high school sweetheart, Robert, in 2005, and they returned to Lake Highlands to raise their family. Stephani loved her friends and community deeply and was involved in PTAs, Women’s League, booster clubs, and countless organizations were the fortunate recipients of her talents.
Stephani’s greatest joy in life was her four children - Lucy, Brett, Jack, and Charlie. Nothing made her happier than cheering them on and watching them participate in the activities they loved. She treasured time spent with family and friends and was always ready for a Friday game of Mahjong.
Stephani was a fighter until the very end, facing every medical obstacle with incredible strength, grace, and determination, never backing down. Many never even knew she was battling cancer because she carried herself with such courage and positivity.
Stephani is survived by her loving husband, Robert; her children, Lucy, Brett, Jack, and Charlie; her beloved father, Weldon Smith; her sisters, Laura Boynton and husband Jay, and Natalie Smith; her in-laws, Joan and Alan Walne; her sister-in-law, Sarah Hefton and husband Ryan; and her cherished nieces and nephews, Allie, Sam, Henry, Mason, Will, Mary Kate, and John. She is preceded in death by her mother, Eileen, and her daughter Caroline.
Our family is deeply grateful for the love, prayers, kindness, and grace shown to Stephani and each of us throughout this journey.
A memorial service will be held at Park Cities Baptist Church on Thursday, May 14th at 1:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Neuroendocrine Tumor Research Foundation and Lake Highlands Women’s League.
