My thought and prayers are with you at this time and they have been this past year. I lost Bill on May 20th, 2014 so I know the grief and loss that you've felt...as I've been through this same period. I've prayed for you to have the strength and comfort of friends and family during your father's passing away also. You have been such an inspiration to so many people in your life and so was Steve. He always gave to others in need and worked to make a difference in the lives of others. Thank you for your friendship and your leadership. They have meant a lot to me. The news of Steve's passing was such a shock to us all.  It was difficult to come to terms with, and to comprehend.  The memorial service was such an incredible tribute, followed by the celebration of Steve's life, back at the house.  It was so perfect.  You were both amazing.  Your friends are here for you, and we love you.

We are very sad to hear of Steve's sudden passing and want to let you know, Terry and Kristana,, our blessing and prayers are with you.  Steve was a good, good person and a friend to so many.  We were always happy to see him at the Margarita Society functions and listen to his many thoughts, ideas and conversations.  Always upbeat Steve had nothing but good to say about others and was so happy doing what he did most, helping those who were in genuine need. Terri, You and Kristana are in our prayers and know you will find strength from each other. We will miss Steve's humor and insight. It seems like yesterday that you two were married.

Steve transformed the lives of so many and leaves an extraordinary legacy.  In my capacity as the Director of Letot Center, I was one of those he "brothered and mentored" for over 20 years.  I witnessed his lively spirit and desire to assist the disenfranchised, disabled and anyone he saw in need.

Like Terry, Steve believed that a child's educational advancement was a powerful tool and he equipped hundreds of kids with school supplies, computers, Laptops and educational software.  Often times, he delivered these materials himself and instructed the students on how to use them.  Steve utilized his many talents in meaningful and generous ways and truly made a difference in the lives of children and their families.

We worked together on countless projects within the Juvenile Department, School System and the Community at large as Steve served on the Letot Capital Foundation ensuing that quality professional support services were delivered to thousands of "at risk" children and their families.

Steve was courageous!  Daring enough to assist me in getting over 500 inner- city kids to a Rangers Game.  Of course, Steve had just as much fun as they did!  

Steve was a leader of leaders and a true"change agent".  I pledge to carry on his tireless vocation to help others to the best of my ability in honor of his impact on me.

Terry, correction....Jan, 1978 Steve was so eager to introduce Terry Kreig to us at a party at Élans. The party was just after their first date.

We were so saddened to hear of Steve's death.  He was a good man, always focused on helping others.  When asked how he was doing, he would always respond, "To blessed to be depressed".  We love that positive, giving attitude he always had.  He will be missed by so many, and we pray for God's peace and comfort for you and your family during this difficult time. Steve was a friend to me and my daughter. Our times together with Steve and Terry, who have welcomed us into their home like family, have been cherished.  Our memories of Steve will live on forever. We will always be there for you Terry.

Steve was a unique person, the likes of whom one seldom comes across.    We, along with the world will miss Steve because of his tremendous heart, his generosity,his wonderful sense of humor, loyalty and friendship.

I knew Steve through the Dallas County Youth Services Advisory Board. He was passionate about helping kids. I remember him saying he and his wife had "Date Nights", what a good husband and kind gentleman he was! He will be missed by many! It was an honor to know him!

I met Steve as a volunteer with the Dallas Police Department. Steve was a very kind soul with a wonderful smile and quick wit. Always willing to help in anyway possible. I will miss his jokes. He was a wonderful person.  My thoughts and prayers are with his family.  May God give you comfort.

His amazing sense of humour, his generosity to Dare to Dream Children's Foundation in Dallas Tx. And his IPhone App coaching was invaluable to me. He will be dearly missed. My heart and prayers are with you.

I am so very sad to learn of Steve's passing.  I knew him through the Dallas County Youth Services Advisory Board. Terri, I will be there. I appointed Steve to be on our Founding Board Member for the Doug Woodham Dallas Junior Academy. I will be there and because of my electric wheelchair, I will see yiu about 1PM.. Because we all loved Steve so very much, I will see you about 1 PM. We met and got to know Steve through our involvement with the DMS. When we saw him he always had a smile on his face and a joke to tell. 
We are so very sorry for your loss. May God bring you comfort and peace.

To say Steve will be missed is an understatement.  Steve's involvement in so many greater Dallas area causes will not be replaceable.  To list all the wonderful projects, programs and charities that Mr. Crane has assisted in would take several paragraphs and the benefits that people have realized from those events will be felt for years to come. His earthly body may no longer walk, but his spirt will live in these projects, programs, charities and us. It has been an honor for Cheryl and I to know and love him. My visits to Dallas were always special but became even more so when Steve joined in,  He was a kind and delightful host, a genuinely  good person, and had a smile that warmed  my heart.  He will be missed by this "eastern cousin"  Terry and Kristana, know my love and sympathy  are yours.

So sorry to hear of Steve's death.  While we weren't among his closest friends, we knew and respected Steve from both political and charity circles.  Were looking forward to seeing him again at the Margarita Ball in a couple months, won't be the same.  He'll surely be missed and mourned by many.

Terry, I was genuinely saddened to hear of Steve's passing… You and your whole family are in my thoughts and prayers and I hope that remembering all of the wonderful times and treasured moments of joy and happiness that you and Steve shared over so many decades will help brighten your spirit both now and always.

After meeting Steve (Kane) Crane in 1971 at "Fourth Session" and Lovers Lane United Methodist Church, I joined him on the Board of Directors of "Fourth Session".
Lovingly he referred to Nancy Holtzendorff, Sandy Meridith, Marilyn Rice and myself as "Steve's Girls" and his friends.
Jan, 1987 Steve was so eager to introduce Terry to us at a party at Elans. They had just had their first date and he was very excited. Terry became our friend and in July, 1989 "Steve's Girls" also became the original members of the "Dallas Dining Divas".
I will always remember the day that Steve called and invited me to lunch at the Crescent Hotel for a charity. He started the conversation with "Terry said that I could BORROW one of her friends for the lunch."
In truth, we were BLESSED to be friends with BOTH Steve and Terry.

Terry and family, may the rich memories of your times together bring warmth and rejuvenation in the months and years ahead even as you grieve the loss of Steve.  And my our collective prays sustain you in the days ahead.

Terry, reading about Steve's life, it is abundantly clear that his was a life well lived. He brought light into so many lives in so many ways. How comforting to know that he is now lighting up heaven. My deepest sympathy to you and Kristana.
