Sylvester worked for the City of Dallas, DISD and Jiggs Parker. He liked to build and put things together when he wasn't watching the Dallas Cowboys, Texas Rangers or Dallas Mavericks games. Sylvester enjoyed taking his grandchildren out and spending time with each of them.
Sylvester is survived by his three children, daughters Mary Moon Castillo and Clara Moon Bueno; son Savino Moon; 12 grandchildren and 36 great grandchildren.
Sylvester was preceded in death by his wife Esther Vela Moon; son Sylvester Moon, Jr.; parents Savino Moon, Sr. and Clara Sanchez Moon; brothers Leonard C. Moon and Sam Moon, Jr.; sisters Maria Elena Rodriguez and Josephine M. Robles.
Serving as pallbearers are Tony Castillo III, Matthew Castillo, Arturo Bueno, Eduardo Ortega, Anthony Santoya and Tony Castillo IV.
A reception will occur Wednesday, October 7, 2020 at American Legion 275, 2804 S. Cockrell Hill Rd, Dallas, TX 75211.
