

Thelston D. Moore “Tom” of Dallas, Texas, passed away on February 9, 2011. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sarah and Carnie Moore, by his wife of 49 years, Oneta Moore, and his brother Alton Moore. He is survived by his daughter, Vicki Moore of Cape Girardeau, MO, his son and wife, Stephen and Debbie Moore, his granddaughter and husband, Ashley and Mitch Groover, all of Dallas, Texas, his sister-in-law, Naomi Moore of Midland, Texas, his sister-in-law and husband, Nina and Paul Dibala of Connecticut.
T. D. was born to Sarah and Carnie Moore in Wolfe City, Texas, September 18, 1919. He spent his early years in Sherman Texas before moving to Dallas and attending Dallas High School. He served in the Navy before WW II, going on to work for Sears Roebuck & Co. in Dallas for 31 years until his retirement in 1985. After retiring, he worked for Produce Reporter Company for 7 years.
He enjoyed working with his hands, building furniture, bird houses, rocking-horses, and repairing anything from cars to appliances. T. D. was always willing to help friends, family and neighbors with their household emergencies.
He was a motor home enthusiast, taking many road trips with his family and co-workers. T. D. received his Master Rescue Diver certification at 78 years young. He also loved to bike and dance. He completed the level of 32nd degree Mason of the Scottish Rite while living in Waco, Texas
Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 26th from 1:00-3:00 p.m. at Sparkman/Hillcrest Funeral Home, 7405 W. Northwest Highway, Dallas, Texas. Graveside service will immediately follow.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America, Susan G. Komen for the Cure, or the charity of your choice.
