On Monday, May 27th, Therese Marie McDaniel passed away at the age of 79. She was born and raised in Dallas, Texas. After attending St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic School and Our Lady of Good Counsel, Therese went on to earn her bachelors degree in education from North Texas State University. She married the love of her life and they were together for 54 amazing years. Therese was a beloved educator having spent over four decades in the classroom. She began her career in education at Lakewood Elementary. After spending time at home with her two young children, she began her 38 year career teaching at her home parish of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic School. She was an amazing and dedicated educator who impacted countless students with her commitment to both education and faith. When Therese was not in the classroom, she enjoyed spending time in the garden and crocheting countless blankets.
Therese is survived by her husband, Raymond, and their children, Sara Casner (Rick) and William McDaniel (Allison), grandchildren, Caitlin Sullivan (Spencer), Blake Casner, Ashley McDaniel, Lila McDaniel, and great grandson Hudson Sullivan. Additionally, she is survived by her sister Anita Schilling (Ray) and family.
A rosary for Therese will be held Monday, June 3, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 5:30 PM at Sparkman-Crane Funeral Home, 10501 Garland Road, Dallas, TX 75218. A visitation will occur Monday, June 3, 2024 from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM, 10501 Garland Road, Dallas, TX 75218. A mass of christian burial will occur Tuesday, June 4, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 6306 Kenwood Ave, Dallas, TX 75214. An entombment will occur Tuesday, June 4, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM at Calvary Hill Funeral Home & Cemetery, 3235 Lombardy Ln, Dallas, TX 75220.
