
Thomas Corbin Mashburn passed away on Monday, October 16, 2017 at the age of 86. TC, as he was known to his family and friends, was born to Thomas Otho and Clota Marie Mashburn on August 23, 1931. He is survived by his daughter, Vicki Gail Mashburn Carter, who lives with her husband, Kent, and their two sons and families in the Dallas area. He is also survived by his sister Martha Uland, and her children Patty Uland and Terry Myers, by his sister Norma Hale, and Norma’s husband, Samuel Edward Hale, and their children, Thomas Hale, David Hale and Robert Hale, and by the spouses and children of his nieces and nephews.
TC grew up in Dallas and was well known in his long-time neighborhood near White Rock Lake. TC graduated from Pleasant Grove High School and attended Arlington State College, which is now known as The University of Texas Arlington. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. Upon leaving the Navy, he returned to Dallas where he began his career with Trinity Industries. He was a skilled mechanic and carpenter. TC loved the outdoors, and spent many hours at his former lake properties at Lake Tawakoni and Cedar Springs Lake. He was an avid fisherman and outdoorsman, and also loved bird hunting. He also enjoyed following sports, with a particular passion for baseball.
