Tressie C Whitaker

The center of our joy and love, Tressie Celestine Whitaker was blessed to be born to Theo and Bedie Jordan in Ruston, La. She graduated from Lincoln High School in 1960 and went on to attend Grambling. Along with her friend Pauline, she later moved to Dallas. She met and married Clyde F. Whitaker on August 30, 1963. To this union 5 children were born. Tressie was a very strong, wise, and unconditional loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to everyone she knew. Tressie was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde F. Whitaker, parents, Theo, Bedie and Izola Jordan, brothers, John L. and Will Lee Jordan, sisters, Ida Lee Mays, Teresa Stevenson, Lorine Brantley, Minnie Lee Manning, and Lillie B. Streets. Left to cherish her being in our lives and carrying on her legacy are her children: Sonya Colette, Patricia Gayler Onochie (Anthony), Kimberly Rochelle, Regina Lynette, and Erik John Street. Grandchildren: Courtney, Ekene, Amaka, Amanda, Ugo, Chinedu, Jasmin, Dominique, Erik Jr. and Jordan. Great grandchild, Michael Jr., special nephews: Michael Jordan and Kenneth Warfield, godson, Rodney Talmore, special friends: Earmestine Elmore and Pauline Johns along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
