Viola Ramos Lewright earned her angel wings on January 6, 2019. It was a beautiful Sunday afternoon when she passed peacefully in her sleep at home, surrounded by her loved ones, after a courageous, hard fought battle with cancer.
Viola was born on September 16, 1933 to Fernando and Constancia Ramos in the small pueblo of Mier, Mexico. She grew up in a large and loving family in Corpus Christi, Texas where she met her husband, Jerry Lewright. Together they had two children, traveled the World and lived together as a family in Japan and Hong Kong.
Viola was deeply loved by her family and friends and touched many lives. She was small in stature but big in personality. Her passion and joy in life were her children, grandchildren and family, which she devoted her life to. Her feisty spirit will never be forgotten and will be sorely missed.
Those who are joyously awaiting their reunion in heaven are her husband, mother and father, and 5 brothers: Homer, Romero, Fred, Carlos and Michael Ramos. Left to keep the memory of her love alive are her son and daughter, Randy Lewright and Cindy Moore, and her grandchildren: Ryan, Lauren, and Cameron Lewright and Gordon and Chloe Moore. Her sisters, Ella Lopez and Elva Rodriguez, and many nephews, and nieces - all of whom she adored.
A celebration of her life will be held on January 19th. A rosary will begin at 12:30 pm, followed by mass at 1:00pm, at St. Jude chapel in downtown Dallas. After the mass, there will be a procession to Bear Creek Cemetery, her final resting place. For more details contact funeral director at Calvary Hill Funeral Home.
