William Lamar Dickerson January 2, 1943 - September 15, 2023. Bill our loving son, husband, father, friend, diver, navy veteran, graduate, electrical engineer, remodeling contractor, antique dealer, community advocate, problem solver, photography model, and humorous, was born in Alexandria, Louisiana grew up in San Antonio, and moved to Dallas, Texas. Bill served on the USS Albany, a heavy cruiser, CG10 1961-1965 4th Division as a missile Technician, during Cuban Missile Crisis. By volunteering to serve his country he was able to enjoy adventures at sea, scuba dive, and see the world. He absolutely loved his family and sharing his abundant stories and life’s lessons! Bill worked for Garland Power and Light, Haggler Construction, until he branched out and started a construction company. Bill was a lover of life, found good in all people and loved serving the community.
Preceded in death by parents Dick Dickerson, Marybeth Acker Dickerson, and wife Arlene Dietz McMains. Survived by wife Lynn Piccola Dickerson; sister Elise Dixon; children David Dickerson and Michelle Steele Dickerson, Carolyn and Lewis Howard, Tracey and Sid Gonzales; grandchildren Will Dickerson, Grace and Emma Steele, Kaitlyn Lewis, Kristin King, Madison and Elizabeth Murphy, Isabelle Gonzales, Avery Fowler, and many great grandchildren.

Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 pm on Oct 14th at Sparkman/Hillcrest Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers donations may can be made to Faith Presbyterian Hospice, UT Southwestern: Heart and Lung Transplant Research, Palliative Care Team, Spiritual Support, Hope cottage, Salvation Army, Disabled Vets, and St. John’s Episcopal Church.
