Bill is survived by his wife of 57 years, Mary; daughter, Margie; son, Dean; sisters, Margaret O’Neill and Mary Jo Nelson; and brothers, James, Dick and Jack. He was preceded in death by his parents, Florence & Thomas Hartnett; sons, Gene, Jim and Billy; sister, Monica Berkley; and brothers, Tom, Dan, Gene and Bart. Bill was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church, Ironworkers Local #263, and VFW #6796. The family will receive friends at Sparkman/Crane Funeral Home in Dallas from 6 pm – 8 pm, Wednesday, August 24, 2011, with recitation of the Rosary at 7 pm. A Funeral Mass will be 1 pm, Thursday, August 25, 2011 at St. Bernard of Clairvaux Catholic Church, 1404 Old Gate Ln. Dallas 75218. Interment will follow at Calvary Hill Cemetery in Dallas.
