

A Memorial Service will be held to honor his life on Saturday, June 6, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Sparkman-Crane Funeral Home at 10501 Garland Road, Dallas, Texas.
Among some of Bill’s favorite hobbies and past times, he liked to fish, play golf, read, travel and above all, spend time with his family and friends.
Preceded in death by his parents, daughter Jamie Brinkoeter, brother and sister-in-law Harry and Colleen VanSandt, sister Beverly Stewart, brother-in-law James Strong, and granddaughter Ginger Ellen Schnitzius. Bill is survived by his wife, Nancy Ann VanSandt of Dallas, Texas; son, Stan VanSandt and wife Zoe Irene VanSandt of Austin, Texas; daughter, Suzan Schnitzius of Dallas, Texas; stepdaughter, Kathy Ann Francois and husband Frances of Arizona; stepdaughter, Karen Kay Norris of Dallas, Texas; sister, Betty Jay Strong of Dallas, Texas; grandchildren, Steven and Kathleen Cunningham, Ashley and Kerri Brinkoeter, Joanna and Jason Soles, Shane and Autumn Schnitzius, Patrick Jay Schnitzius, Jason William Schnitzius, Audrey and Cynthia Meza; and great grandchildren Sean Cunningham, Mackensie and Logan Brinkoeter, Spencer and Eli Soles, and Emma and Lucy Schnitzius.
Bill served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. After his enlistment he worked for many years in management for the Western Auto Supply Corporation.
The family will have a private inurnment at a later date at the DFW National Cemetery in Dallas, Texas.
Sparkman-Crane Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
