Yesenia was the proud mother of four children—Jocelyn Vela, Abigail Vela, Scott Vela Jr., and Nathan Vela—whom she loved deeply and considered her greatest joy. She was a spirited and passionate woman who fought with strength and lived wholeheartedly.

In her spare time, Yesenia enjoyed going out and spending time with her children. She loved getting lost in her favorite game on her phone and cherished every moment spent creating lasting memories with her family. Above all, she found joy in making sure everyone around her was cared for.

Yesenia will be remembered for her high energy, bright spirit, strength, and resilience. She had a smile that could light up a room, and her vibrant personality left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her.

She is survived by her beloved children, Jocelyn, Abigail, Scott Jr., and Nathan; her parents, Maria and Jaime Hernandez; her siblings, Sandra Arevalo (Jesus), Robert Arevalo, Elias (Vonnie) Arevalo, Rosemary (Jose) Duran, and Aime (Alphonzo) Washington; her husband, Erick Mendoza; and countless nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Juan and Rosa Rivera, and her brother, Cesar.

Though she left this world too soon, her memory will live on in the laughter, love, and moments she shared with those closest to her.
