She was born in Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia on December 7, 1934 to Alexander and Sofia Menacho Bournett. She married Mark H. Lackey and had two daughters whom she raised in Bolivia until the family immigrated to Dallas in 1968. She was a devout Catholic and staunch Republican who donated much of her time and resources to many conservative platforms. She was an amazing cook, often cooking large family meals, with signature dishes such as rice, salad and salteñas. She loved animals and was genuinely loved by all kinds of God’s creatures. Her greatest accomplishments were her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She took a very active role in raising good, spiritual, healthy, educated, active members of society. She lived life to the fullest and taught her family to do the same.
Survivors include her daughters Nini McEwan and Diana Nightingale; and their husbands Jim McEwan and Mark Nightingale; and grandchildren Chris McEwan, Robert McEwan, Alexa Nightingale and Austin Nightingale; and great-grandchildren, Logan McEwan, Piper McEwan, Elizabeth McEwan and Banyan McEwan.
