Abilio Ribeiro Luis

Abilio Ribeiro Luis, 89, passed away peacefully December 5, 2025, in Danbury. Abilio was born in Lousa, Portugal on February 13, 1936, to Vitorino and Guilhermina Maria Luis. With his wife Helena and their young family, he emigrated to the US in 1972 and settled in Danbury.

Abilio worked as a mason until he retired. He loved to work in his garden and spend time with his family.

Surviving family members are his daughter Fatima (Alexandre) Cardinale; his grandchildren: Cynthia (Phillip) Palanzo, Alexandre Jr. (Alison) Cardinale and Robert Cardinale; four great-grandchildren: Mackenzie, Camryn, Cooper and Valentina; his nieces: Elizabette Luis (Danbury) and Fernanda Luis (Portugal), and sister-in-law Maria do Carmo Luis (Portugal), as well as many nieces and nephews are also left to remember him.

In addition to his parents, Abilio was predeceased by his brother Manuel Ribeiro Luis (Portugal), and sister Ermelinda Luis Jose (Cesar) and great-grandson, Phillip Jr.

There will be a graveside service on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at 11:00 AM at St. Peter Cemetery, 71 Lake Ave. Ext, Danbury.
