

Artur da Costa Silva, 92, of Danbury, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, February 6, 2026, surrounded by his loving wife of 60 years Maria Helena Silva, beloved only daughter Carla Silva Setaro and son-in-law Christopher C. Setaro.
Born on February 1, 1934, in Lameiras, Celorico da Beria, Portugal, son of the late Daniel Antonio da Silva and late Maria Guilhermina da Costa. Artur is predeceased by his siblings Maria do Ceu, Alfredo, Jose and Rosa in Portugal.
From Portugal Artur immigrated to Angola where he lived for 20 years. In 1976 Artur settled in the United States with his wife to start a family and to build a new life. Artur took pride in working hard; he worked at Hubbell Plastics in Newtown for over 20 years and then at EBARA Corporation in Bethel for another 7 years.
Artur was an avid soccer fan whether watching games on TV or carrying around his portable radio to listen, he loved his favorite Portuguese Soccer team F.C. Porto. In addition, he loved gardening, watching his weekly wrestling matches, working on his beloved truck or fixing anything mechanical. Artur loved reading scriptures and had a great devotion to God. He took pride in being honest and being true to who he was. Artur was a man of few words, but when he spoke it was with purpose and meaning.
He will be deeply missed, and his memory will live on forever.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30am on Thursday, February 12, 2026, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish 149 Deer Hill Rd., Danbury, CT. Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery, 71 Lake Ave Ext, Danbury, CT.
Friends will be received from 5:00pm - 7:00pm on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at the Green Funeral Home., 57 Main St., Danbury, CT.
