

Chuck was born in Patterson, NJ to Irene and Elmer Dransfield on May 14, 1929. He married Mary Koch on October 25, 1952 in St. Teresa's Catholic Church in Woodside, NY. He graduated from Columbia University with a BS in English.
Chuck worked for the Union Pacific Railroad in NY and then worked his way up in North American Phillips Corporation where he became Vice President of Distribution. Chuck was a veteran of the Korean War and proudly served four years in the Air Force.
Chuck was a member of the New Fairfield Booster Club, a lector at St. Edward the Confessor Church in New Fairfield, was a favorite performer in the local production of 90 Minutes from Broadway and was an extra in 3 Metropolitan Operas in NYC.
While excelling in his long business career he was also an accomplished classical pianist and artist. He received first place honors in prestigious local art shows. His watercolors hang in the homes of many of his friends and family, and countless others who appreciated his talent. Several of his paintings were featured on the front cover of the local New Fairfield newspaper and two were selected for the annual Hospice Christmas card. He volunteered at Hospice and donated several of his paintings to Hospice for fundraising.
Chuck lived his life with great passion, love, caring and humor. He is preceded in death by his parents Elmer and Irene and his brother Jimmy.
He is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Mary; daughter, Janet Bahr and her husband, John; daughter, Linda Dransfield; and son, Kevin Dransfield and his wife, Lisa. Chuck treasured his 8 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. His family adores him and will miss him greatly.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at St. Edward the Confessor Catholic Church in New Fairfield on Saturday June 4, 2022 at 10:30am. Burial will follow in Mt. View Cemetery in New Fairfield.
Visitation will be held at Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St. Danbury, CT on Friday, June 3, from 4-7pm.
Chuck’s family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the doctors and nurses who cared for him in his last few weeks of life. We are grateful to Father Tim Iannacone who anointed him, and the wonderful caregivers from Visiting Angels and Ridgefield VNA/Hospice for their loving caring for him in his final days.
