David was born in Danbury, CT, son of the late Martin and Mary Durkin McGetrick. He is predeceased by his brother, Mark McGetrick.
David attended St. Peter’s School and Immaculate High School. He received his BA from Georgetown University with a degree in Finance. He later earned his law degree from Fordham University in New York.
David was previously employed as Court Attorney for New York State Supreme Court Appellate Division.
David, always an avid runner, enjoyed spending time in his beloved Central Park in Manhattan. He will be remembered for his remarkably dry, and wonderful, sense of humor and his quick wit.
He is survived by his brother, Jay, and sister-in-law, Linda McGetrick, of Mount Kisco, NY; and their four children: Mary Kate, Maggie, Erin, and nephew James.
A Memorial Service will be conducted at 1:00pm on Saturday, Jan.13, 2024, at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury.
Friends will be received one hour prior to the service, from 12:00pm - 1:00pm on Saturday, Jan. 13, 2024 at the funeral home.
