Dawn H. Gallagher

Dawn was born in Cranston RI on June 9th, 1936. She was the daughter of the late Raymond Hellerich and Kathleen Murphy.

Her survivors include life partner Franklin Hirt and his loving family, also her children Debra White, Debra Demuth-Lemke (Robert), Lauren Jones-Giannone (Jody), Robert Durgy (Doreen), Mary Gallagher-DeLucia (Alex) and Neal Gallagher (Janice), sisters Margaret Elsdon, Kathleen Kaminski and Rozlyn Leone (Lee) and many beloved cousins, nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her grandchildren Stacey Jamieson (Robb), Spring Durgy, Samantha Townsley (Brady), Christofer Demuth (Joann), Robert Kapple (Christine), Jesse Kapple (Neena), Christopher Lemke, Shelby DeLucia-Burnett, Matthew Luczak, and Joshua Bellin Gallagher.

She was preceded in death by her spouses Gordon Durgy, Eugene Schulze and Charles Gallagher, sons Ronald Durgy, John Gallagher and grandsons Ryan White, Robert Lemke Jr. and granddaughter Casey Giannone.

Dawn was an amazing woman. After graduating from the Danbury Hospital School of Nursing, she started her career as an OR nurse at Danbury Hospital and then continued her career at Fairfield Hills Hospital where she retired as an Adolescent Unit Nurse Supervisor.

Dawn and her husband Charley retired to Lakeview Community where she was very involved with the Social Club and its many events over the years.

She was extremely compassionate and would do anything she could to help her family members or friends without hesitation. Her love of family, friends and animals was enormous. Her love was unconditional to all.

A Celebration of Life to honor Dawn will be held at Hilton Garden Inn, 119 Mill Plain Rd. Danbury on Sunday June 29th from 2 to 6 pm. All are welcome. Refreshments will be served.
