Although a longtime Danbury resident, Dolores was proud of her Bethel, CT roots, where she was born, raised and attended Bethel schools.
Dolores was beloved by many friends, neighbors and co-workers; Roberta Christos, her friend since age 5, former Governor Jodi Rell and Jean Hazard just to name a few.
Dolores held a position at Danbury Orthopedic Associates since its early inception, where she was proud to serve both patients and physicians.
Herb and Dolores loved children and acted as “second parents” to Maura and Jonathan DeJoseph and their children, watching them grow up and enriching each other’s lives.
Candlewood Lake and pets were a large part of Dolores and Herb’s lives. As a couple, they enjoyed trips and antique hunting around New England. Their vintage home was their pride and joy. Dolores enjoyed photography and always had her camera at hand. Her photos will keep cherished memories alive. She will be greatly missed.
Besides her husband, Dolores was predeceased by her parents, Jeffrey and Alice Delohery Tolbert; her first cousins: Joan Delohery Barbarie and William Delohery.
Survivors include her cousins: Melissa Strempski, whom Dolores considered a niece; and Cynthia Clark; her sister-in-law, Mary Bullock Lane of Texas; her dear friends Tom and Sharon DeJoseph; as well as numerous other cousins.
