Eileen was born in Dublin Ireland and lived there for her first year and a half, then moved to London with her parents. She was educated, and grew up in London, before moving to Bethel in 1976 to live with her Sister and Husband. She was a lifelong resident of Connecticut, having lived in Trumbull, Southbury, New Milford, and lastly New Fairfield. She and her husband got married just outside of Dublin on June 10, 1990 in a small town named Rathfarnham, a quaint, picture postcard village. Eileen worked as a Bookkeeper, and Executive Administrative Specialist, for many area companies, and was Office Manager and Bookkeeper for Rosy Tomorrows restaurant for many years, in Danbury, before she retired. She was ‘the ultimate administrator’ as her Husband always called her, for managing all of the household bills, daily problems and did ‘juggling acts’ with the finances monthly.
Eileen loved being in the water, boating, swimming, fishing, which she and her husband did quite often throughout the 1980’s, 90’s and through 2002. She loved the great outdoors, and was active in gardening, with both flower and vegetable's, and their 60 houseplants. She and her Husband’s greatest loves were their beautiful cats of which they had five over their 27 years of marriage. They were named Lucky, Tinker, Spooky, Lissa and the last surviving one Acey. She dedicated her life to making sure the ‘kids’ as she called them, were well taken care of with Vet visits, the best food, and always had a toy or two for them to play with.
Eileen is survived by her husband Irving of 27 years, her sisters Pauline of Bethel and Kathy of Massachusetts, her brother Dave (Barbara) of England, brother Peter of Ireland, and her brother Eddie (Mary) of England. Eileen is also survived by many nieces and nephews, several grandnieces and grandnephews and a great-niece.
She had the most kind, giving, and helpful spirit, and always thought of others, well before herself. She was too good for this World, and will be missed tremendously.
A Memorial Service will be held on April 6, 2017 from 2:00PM – 6:00PM, at Green Funeral Home, 57 Main Street, Danbury, CT 06810.
