She is survived by her loving daughter, Heidi Lopes, and her supportive sons, Eckehard and Christian Kuehn. She is also survived by son-in-law, Carlos Lopes, and daughter-in-laws, Cindi Kuehn and Donna Kuehn. Elizabeth was a loving grandmother to Stephen Kuehn, Christopher Kuehn, Ryan Lopes, Stephanie Lopes, Brittany Lopes, Nicole Lopes, and great-grandmother to Brooke Kuehn, Ava Kuehn, and Michaela Kuehn.
Elizabeth was predeceased by her brothers: Christian Schwebler and Philip Schwebler; and her sister: Marie Brauchler.
Elizabeth was born March 28, 1925, in Feketic, Yugoslavia to Marie and Philip Schwebler. The family had to leave everything behind due to the onset of the Russian Army during World War II. Elizabeth migrated to the United States, to Bethel, CT, eventually settling in Danbury, CT.
Elizabeth was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She was the epitome of a ‘matriach,’ and always made sure that every gathering was a celebration of family. She was filled with love and her quick wit and well-timed humor always radiated. She was truly a special person and will eternally be missed.
A visitation will be held on Friday, June 7, 2019, from 4PM-7PM at Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury, CT.
A Graveside Service will be conducted at 11am on Saturday, June 8, 2019 at the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Tamarack Ave., Danbury with the Rev. Peter Hammond, officiating.
