Born in Danbury to the late Daniel and Elizabeth (Holick) Skandera, Emil attended Danbury Schools.
Joining the Navy and serving on the USS Macon, Emil was a recipient of the American Theater Medal and the Victory Medal.
A longtime employee at Richter Park Golf Club, he retired after almost 50 years there.
Emil was an active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Danbury, a volunteer fireman with Independent Hose Company #4 in Danbury, and a lifelong member of the Sokol Lodge #30.
Besides his parents, Emil was predeceased by his siblings: John Skandera; Elizabeth Van Geons; Anne Curesky; Daniel Skandera, Jr.; and Michael Skandera.
He is survived by his sister-in law, Anne Skandera, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at a later date.
